Domiciliary Physiotherapy Service

The Domiciliary Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy care for people who are housebound.

The service is only available to patients living in north and west Belfast.

It covers the BT11, BT12, BT13, BT14, BT15 and BT36 postcodes and the cut-off point for treatment is Whitewell Road.


Our physiotherapists work with musculoskeletal conditions, such as:
  • neurological disorders
  • respiratory management
  • gait and balance problems
  • mental health needs
  • lymphoedema management
  • palliative care needs.
They can provide treatment in a range of settings, including:
  • client's own home
  • relative's home
  • residential home
  • nursing home
  • day centre.

Using the Domiciliary Physiotherapy Service

If you would like to use the Domiciliary Physiotherapy Service, you will need a referral from your doctor or other healthcare professional.

Once the referral has been received, we can arrange an appointment for you.

All referrals should be made to the Central Referral Service, which is operated by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

It is open at the following times:
  • Monday to Thursday - 8.30am to 5pm
  • Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm.
