Health and nutrition training

The Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service also provides nutrition updates and training for groups.

Our community dieticians work together with healthcare professionals and other groups, such as schools, local councils, voluntary and statutory agencies and community associations, to organise nutrition workshops.

The workshops cover a range of topics, including:
  • nutrition for good health
  • nutrition for pre-school and school-age children
  • nutrition for older people
  • weight management
  • eating on a budget.
They can provide training on nutrition programmes such as:
  • Cook it!
  • Weigh to Health
  • Good Food Toolkit.
Our dieticians help develop nutritional guidelines with a variety of organisations and produce leaflets for use in the home, schools and older people’s homes.

They also provide training to other healthcare professionals and community workers and work with the media to promote public awareness of nutrition.

You can find out more by calling the Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service (CNDS) directly on 028 9032 7103.
