Frequently asked questions
I want to start giving solid foods to my baby. Where do I start?
Breast or formula milk provides all the nourishment your baby needs for its first six months.
Infant feeding guidelines recommend that babies begin eating solid foods at the age of six months.
By then, babies need more iron and nutrients in their diet because their digestive systems and kidneys are more developed.
Weaning a baby off milk can cause problems, such as food allergies, if you do it too soon.
For more information, talk to your health visitor.
A health visitor is available in the health centre in Grove Wellbeing Centre on Wednesdays from 2pm to 3.30pm.
If you don`t know who your health visitor is, contact your doctor`s surgery.
