Frequently asked questions
I need a wheelchair. How can I get one?
Referrals for wheelchairs must be made to our Community Occupational Therapy Service.
You can contact them via our Central Referral Service on 084 5606 6596.
You will then be assessed by your occupational therapist who will examine your posture, limb function and perception skills.
They will also check the surroundings the chair will be used in and your arrangements for work and leisure activities.
If you meet our criteria for wheelchair use, a prescription will be issued to you, based on the type of chair you need.
