Frequently asked questions
My child has some speech and language difficulties – what help is available?
Children can be referred for assessment by our Community Speech and Language Therapy Service by a range of people, including:
parents or carers
health visitors
school nurses
doctors
education staff
early years staff.
All referrals need consent from the child`s parent or carer and should be made to the Central Referral Service, which is operated by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
You can contact the Central Referral Service by calling 084 5606 6596.
We will then get in touch to arrange a suitable time for an assessment.
