Community Dental Service
The Community Dental Service includes dentists, dental health educators, hygienists and dental nurses.
They work together with other professionals, including schools, community nurses and social workers, to provide dental care to children.
The service has a number of roles, including:
helping people to access dental care
providing a community dental service to those who find it difficult to come into the surgery
referring patients to hospital when specialist services are needed.
North and west Belfast currently has a high level of dental disease.
Three quarters of children in the area will experience tooth decay by the age of five, when they will have, on average, three or four teeth which are affected by decay.
Using the Community Dental Service
You will need a referral from your doctor or other healthcare professional to access the Community Dental Service.

It is open at the following times:
Monday to Thursday - 8.30am to 5pm
Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm.
